The White House

The White House is one of the most iconic structures in the United States. It is the official home and workplace of the President of the United States and is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The building is divided into several sections, such as the West Wing, which features the workplaces of the President and the President’s staff. The East Wing features the Office of the First Lady and was designed to hide the emergency bunker built for the President, now known as the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. Tours of the White House are possible and are free to both citizens of the United States and international visitors, however, you can’t just walk up and get a tour. You need to submit a request to your Congressman or home embassy to schedule a tour, which tends to be popular and fills up on a first-come, first-served basis.
