Bioparc Valencia is a zoo with a difference. At this zoo, engagement with the animals and their habitats is highly encouraged, for a more immersive experience. What this means is that the Bioparc doesn’t use traditional means to restrain animals, but rather allows them to live more freely, employing natural elements such as rocks and rivers to separate the animals from the visitors. This more natural approach is both kinder to the animals who inhabit the Bioparc, and more immersing for those who visit. The main focus of the Bioparc is on African fauna, and recreating the surroundings that African animals are accustomed to. As a result, you have the opportunity to see as authentic an African habitat as possible without going on safari in the continent itself. Animal welfare is of huge importance to the Bioparc, and they aim to maintain high standards with regards to the treatment of the animals.
