The Museo del Greco is a museum dedicated to the life and works of El Greco, who is considered one of Toledo’s most famous citizens. The artist spent much of his life in Toledo and influenced the city with his works. The Museo del Greco has two major parts, a 16th century house and an early 20th century building that houses the museum. While El Greco’s home no longer exists, the 16th century house is designed to recreate the home of El Greco. There is also a garden that you can visit at the location.
The Museo del Greco is a tourist attraction located within the Jewish Quarter. It is open Tuesday through Sunday and is closed on Mondays. The museum, like many attractions in Toledo, features shorter operating hours during the winter months. The admission is a nominal fee, and some people qualify for reduced admission. In addition, students, retired persons, and large families are admitted free.
