Frida Kahlo Museum

Over in Coyoacán, the more laidback and bohemian part of town, we find the Frida Kahlo Museum, the home that used to belong to Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Frida Kahlo is one of the most famous Mexican painters, and so is her husband Diego, so it is no small coincidence how big of a tourist attraction their former house and the current museum is. The iconic indigo blue house lets you see a glimpse of how the couple lived during their marriage as well as the home where Frida was born, raised, lived, and died. Frida and Diego also hosted here several communists meetings, and Leon Trotsky was one of the frequent attendees here after he was exiled from the Soviet Union. Not much has changed in the house since the 1950s. You will find some of their original pieces here along with artworks from other painters. Travel into Frida’s life by seeing how she lived and painted (after her tragic accidents) at this iconic house.
